JAN TERM 2005 Greatest Experience

THE SIXTH DAY

Running feeble fingers through

Inhabiting vacant spots where

Golden brown once lived

My beauty fades with every passing Friday

Dreading latter days

With agonizing tears

While hating meals I'll soon see again

My sister comforts…only until next Friday

Pain is retreating

While squinted eyes see

Dreams of normal life nearing

My heart knows, this is the last Friday

Heavenly Treasure

Pain and Torture

Eyes bulging

Teeth gnashing

Jaw clamped tight

Darkness and Doom

Fingernails scraping

Time ticking

Eternity

Weeping

Screaming

Hyperventilating

Vomiting

Distressed

Counting off digits

One by one

…Two…Three

In agony

Four…Five

Praying for life

Abhorring everyone

…Husband…

Counting

Slowly, too slowly

Six…Seven…Eight

Never-ending torment

Nine…Nine…Nine

He’s done counting

Worn out and exhausted

Throbbing

Hearing someone

Crying

Priceless pain

Departing

Soothing “God’s gift”

Holding our treasure
