Happy New Year

I welcome any editing suggestions for any of these poems.  I post these offerings here for just this purpose.

Raining Birds

Now that the temperature is above freezing
the birds have returned to forage the yard

and the grapevine. They perch on the fence,
look around full circle. I enjoy them from inside

since the rain is steady. They don’t seem fazed at all,
and flutter no wing to shake off the droplets.

Perhaps they are satisfied to come out of hiding
and continue their pursuit of survival.
